For the first time Tefaf New York Fall introduces itself to online communication by inviting exhibitors to publish a representative work. We have decided to present a rare sketch by Giulio Bargellini, coming from the artist’s studio and published in the monographic exhibition of the avant-garde gallery, in the rediscovery of Italian symbolism, Emporio Floreale in 1982. The small and intense canvas, preparatory for the painting of Neo-Pompeian subject “Idyll” reveals the artist’s self-portrait in the languorous physiognomy of the young man.

We believe that the work may well represent the work of our gallery, since the beginning specialized in the rediscovery of artists and significant episodes in the history of art, albeit little known.
